A Pairing of Swans

A pairing of SwanS featuring Evelyn Hart and Rex Harrington with cellists Amanda Forsyth (NACO principal cello) and Shauna Rolston premieres on CBC Television’s Opening Night on March 3.

The broadcast premiere of a pairing of SwanS, conceived and directed by Veronica Tennant, will take place on Thursday, March 3 at 21:00 on CBC Television’s Opening Night.

A pairing of SwanS is a homage to two superb dancers, Evelyn Hart and Rex Harrington. Hart’s transcendent performance in The Dying Swan hearkens back to the first ‘immortal swan’ — Anna Pavlova. Harrington is mesmerizing in a contemporary solo choreographed for his unique talents. The educational DVD-ROM offers a wealth of resources to all — whether aficionados or students. Listen to the candid commentaries, and witness the process and drama behind the scenes, as stellar dancers, musicians, choreographer and camera-team, transform the works for the screen.
